Last week we had the lovely Lynsey who is our very own PR co-ordinator, so this week we’re moving departments and going to HR. Yep, the department that ensures that everybody is happy and that we (as a company) get the best people working for us. So without further ado, let me introduce our HR Manager Kim Royle!
So what do you do at Eventa?
Being the HR Manager, my role encompasses a number of duties which centre a round ‘our people’. Firstly, HR recruits all of our lovely staff, and then works with management to develop performance, manage and engage the workforce. We also look after absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, health & safety, employee benefits and all other ad-hoc HR jobs! We endeavour to ensure happy, healthy and high performing employees.
What’s your favourite drink?
Kir Royal mainly because I like to think it was named after me!
I do love a vegetarian based Vol-au-vent! Or those delicious mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and horseradish in them!
What’s your favourite event theme?
Love any excuse for glitz and glamour, so maybe a Hollywood themed party with everything as the celebs would have it!
Your top 3 event tips?
- Planning (even if you get someone else to do it for you!)
- Good music/DJ/band who will get everyone dancing
- Décor and lighting can make a big difference and doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive!
Best and worst secret Santa gift?
Best– A human banana outfit which I was forced to wear all night! However, it eventually turned into a pretty good sleeping bag at the end of the night! So it really was the gift that kept on giving!
Worst– Was once given a book mark which is probably the most boring present ever, let alone for a secret Santa! (Sorry to sound ungrateful!)
