This St Albans Christmas party venue has so much going for it – historic charm, contemporary flair and the best in luscious Italian fare! Set in an impressive listed 18th century building, it’s an Italian restaurant from one of Britain’s most successful celebrity chefs. In converting the building into an informal yet classy foodie hangout, many of the original features have been kept. As you walk in, you’ll see the pasta station, where some of the magic happens, as well as a long drinks bar, stacked with carefully selected wines and the organic house wine.
The main dining area has an urban feel, sitting directly underneath a glass roof and timber-vaulted ceiling and gunmetal painted walls. The chairs and tables are a mixture of wood and metal, for a utility look, but the overall mood is one of laid-back comfort.
The menu is bursting with crowd-pleasing dishes, all expertly constructed for maximum appeal, to tickle the taste buds of everyone from the most committed meat-eater to vegetarians looking to enjoy the taste of fresh produce in inspiring combinations. Of course, pasta is a strong point, and what you’ll find here is in a different league from your average spag bol. Starters include appealing platters of cured meats and mouth-watering bruschetta. And you can round off with some truly tempting desserts like squidgy chocolate brownie or ice cream.
Choose from a range of packages including two or three courses, and drinks including the house wines or sparkling prosecco to raise a glass to the season. Of course you can also pre-order more drinks in advance, as part of your package, or buy more on the day. Cheers!
