The phrase 'Cirque de Lumière', translated as 'Circus of Light', pays tribute to the skill and innovative displays of a superbly talented cast, seamlessly supported by a spectacular light show.... welcome to Cirque de Lumière, the ultimate 2011 Derby Christmas party!

On entering the venue you are beckoned to banish your coats to the cloakroom as you feel the electric atmosphere instantly around you. Bizarre stilt creatures stand next to lightly snowed Christmas trees lining the entrance lit in dramatic blues and greens as occasional swirls of light flash over head. Uplifting Christmas party music fills the air as you spot friends and colleagues at the main bar... Suddenly, the room is plunged into darkness. Beautifully clad, lithe dancers dressed in mesmerizing costumes become slowly visible on raised platforms throughout the bar. Performers attempt mind defying contortions in front of your eyes as crisp beams of magical light race around the room.

While the main bars offer traditional local beers, spirits and crisp wines, the Cocktail & Champagne bar promises something different, where the barmen concoct specially designed cocktails shaped before your eyes. As you take your seats for a delicious dinner your eyes are drawn to the main stage where the night's entertainment gathers pace. Acrobats clad in iridescent costumes and brightly coloured body paint drop from high above your head to the gasps of guests, while creatures appear from the shadows to amaze with defying strength and poise!

As dinner reaches its climax, the music gathers pace as the dance floor floods with those of you keen to take advantage of old time classics and modern day hits. Elsewhere Fairgrounds stalls and the Fun Casino opens where guests hone their skills and try their luck at our tables! For those needing a break from the excitement, quieter areas have been set aside to enjoy an after dinner coffee while chatting with friends and watching over the night's festivities!
