We Wish You A Mersey Christmas

Christmas parties Liverpool 2011

Liverpool wasn’t crowned the European Capital of Culture for nothing. It is a rich tapestry of the arts inspired in everything it does by an iconic musical legacy kick-started by The Beatles, Gerry & The Pacemakers and The Remo Four. A packed and impressively varied Christmas party programme will be calling on Merseyside across the course of the festive season in 2011 and Eventa are encouraged to be promoting plenty of ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ Christmas party packages. Type Christmas parties Liverpool 2011 into any search engine and upon coming through to our page you’ll find such delights as Christmas parties being held at Knowsley Safari Park, Aintree Racecourse and a hotel fashioned in the shape of a giant ship amongst other wonderfully unique Christmas party locations.

One of our personal favourites when it comes to Christmas nights out in Liverpool this year has to be the event entitled ‘Bonsoir Paris’. As you’d expect, the venue will be gorgeously decorated in the style of 19th Century Paris, with opulent features such as Champagne and Cocktail bars and of course seductive dance performances from West End performers. Dinner time too comes with its own surprises, as guests are encouraged to take part in balloon modelling and a dance competition. Held on the fringes of the famous Knowsley Safari Park, this is one Liverpool Christmas party that could get a little wild!

Elsewhere across Merseyside we are pleased to see a huge range of interestingly-themed yet well-priced Christmas parties, including the popular Midnight In Monte Carlo (think casinos, jazz quartets, dodgems and discos) and increasingly sought-after Christmas party lunch option. When you think about it, it can be rather difficult getting lots of people to agree on an evening when they are free, so what better time to hold a Christmas party than when everyone is together at work, during the day? You’ll get an afternoon out of the office and have the evening free to spend with loved ones as well. A very Mersey Christmas to you indeed!

European Downturn Could Affect Christmas Party Season

Christmas party cane

Buyers at European retailers have indicated that they will be holding back on bulk orders this winter, aware of the effect that the European financial crisis will have on people’s ability to spend during the Christmas party season. Although the worst affected countries, Greece and Portugal, account for only a small proportion of European Christmas purchases, larger economies have been affected by having to bail out those in trouble.

Aware that belts will remain tightened for a sizeable proportion of consumers throughout the festive season, we’ve been busying ourselves ensuring that we deliver a balance of unbeatable value and high quality across our Christmas parties this year so that everybody can have a great night out with their friends and colleagues and not pay the Earth. We wanted to provide you with a huge range of parties with really interesting themes, great food and a whole host of live entertainment to boot. So with that in mind, we’ve teamed up with a renowned national supplier to promote a range of 2011 Christmas parties in far flung locations such as Newcastle, Southampton, Reading and London, areas in which we feel the cost of a Christmas party has increased a little too much of late, to bring you nights such as Moonlit In Marrakesh, One Night In Bangkok and To Russia With Love for considerably less than a standard dinner and dance in a top hotel. These Christmas parties, held in wonderfully themed and purpose-built party venues, come loaded with all you could possibly want from a festive event and more; wonderful food, stilt-walkers, aerial trapeze artists, dancers and live bands, not to mention fun casinos, dodgems and the best Christmas party discos.

That doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about those larger companies with the budgets to match, oh no. London Christmas parties in particular are shaping up to be the most lavish we’ve seen yet. From exclusive parties held at the summit of the famous ‘Gherkin’ to dinner amongst the wax celebrities of Madame Tussauds and cruises along the Thames, a 2011 London Christmas party is money well spent in our book, so if you are able to stretch those pockets a little further you won’t be disappointed. And remember, Christmas parties are tax deductible up to £150 per head, so you can impress your boss by telling them that you’ll be saving them money as well. Job done!

Chard Christmas Lights Appeal Gets Off To Best Possible Start

Bath Christmas parties

A South Somerset District Councillor has gone above and beyond the call of duty and kindly donated £500 of his own money to the Chard Christmas Lights Appeal. According to local reports the 2010 lights were praised as being one of the best displays the town has ever seen and local official Dave Bulmer is clearly keen for it to be bettered this year.

Chard, a small town in Somerset, isn’t a million miles away from the bright lights of Bath and going by the events we’ve already listed on our website, Bath Christmas parties are set to really dazzle in 2011. Arguably the most colourful Christmas party to be held in Bath, perhaps in the whole of Somerset, this year is the event entitled ‘Christmas At The Winter Palace’. Set within a stunning party marquee, the space will be lit up in cool blues and purples with frosty icicles hanging down from the ceiling. With face painting and massages on offer throughout the evening, this is one Bath Christmas party that won’t be short on colour.

Amongst the other shared Christmas parties on offer in this historical location in 2011, the ‘All Inclusive Party Nights’ package promises unlimited beer, house spirits, wine and soft drinks until Midnight, the true embodiment of the celebratory nature of the Christmas party season.

We here at Eventa sincerely hope that Mr. Bulmer’s unbridled act of festive generosity inspires 2011 Christmas party organisers and those attending them to bring the events to life with twinkling lights, generous helpings of fine food and drink and a ‘can-do’ attitude that will turn an ordinary party into the bash of the year.

Five Essential Christmas Party Don’ts

Christmas party

Over the course of our last few Christmas party blogs we’ve been telling you all about things that we think you should do. So with that in mind, we thought it was high time we let you know about a few things that you shouldn’t be doing at your Christmas party. We’ll own up here, we’ve found ourselves in several of these ill-advised situations ourselves over the years but hey, we’re all human and we like to think that we’ve lived and learned. We’ve done it so you don’t have to, hopefully! So without further ado, here’s our five essential Christmas party don’ts.

Kiss The Boss’ Wife/Husband

Pretty self-explanatory this one. If you find yourself flirting with or, in a worst case scenario, kissing the boss’ wife or husband, expect to find your P45 waiting on your desk the next morning, and that’s if you’re lucky!

Drink Too Much Before Dinner

We’ve all been found guilty of this one a few times. Being excited about your Christmas party and wanting to celebrate the festive season wholeheartedly is great, but we advise that you pace yourself with the drinks, especially before you’ve had a chance to eat anything. A pre-dinner drink or two, followed by bottle of wine with dinner and plenty of water is usually the best way to celebrate without overdoing it.

Expose Yourself

This doesn’t happen too often at Christmas parties but when it does it can sour the whole event. Remember that if you are attending a shared Christmas party you’ll be sharing the room with a number of other groups that probably won’t see the funny side. In any case, keep your shirt on and look the part in a classy way!

Declare Your Undying Love For A Colleague

After a few tipples it might seem like a good idea to take the plunge and let that office crush know how you feel about them but we speak from experience when say that this is not such a good call. This is one Christmas party trick that usually leads to embarrassment the next morning. Don’t get us wrong, office romances can of course blossom if both parties are willing, but on the whole it is one-way traffic!

Pass Out Before Midnight

You shouldn’t be passing out full-stop but if you are nodding off before Midnight, whilst all your friends and colleagues are having the time of their lives on the dance floor, you’ll look really silly and be the butt of all jokes from now on.

So there you have it! Follow these five easy Christmas party ideas and you are halfway towards having a cracking festive event. Stay tuned over the coming weeks for our five Christmas party DOS!

Cambridge Christmas Parties | The Reindeer Diaries

Cambridge Christmas parties

When you think of Cambridge you immediately think of meticulously manicured lawns, cosy quadrangles and historic University buildings, not to mention punting boats down the River Cam whilst students study and sip drinks on the banks. We’ve been particularly fond of Cambridge Christmas parties over the years, as well as these beautifully wistful qualities one frequently attributes to the town. Indeed, a few of us here in the office made a trip up for a Christmas party in Cambridge several years ago. We ended up spending the night, enjoying the delights of the town the next day and then decided it would only be right to attend a second Christmas party that evening. True story!

A number of this year’s Cambridge Christmas parties have been named in tribute to three of Santa Claus’ most trusted companions, his reindeers Rudolph, Dasher and Comet. These shared Christmas parties will be held in a beautiful venue right alongside the river, between Queens College and the Fitzwilliam Museum. The leader of the pack is undeniably Rudolph, whose Christmas party package includes a four course dinner, coffee and Petit Fours and a late night disco. The Comet package offers up a three course seated dinner and disco, whereas the Dasher offering is ideal for smaller groups on a budget, coming in at under £20 per head.

The very same venue will also play host to a series of superb Christmas party lunches, the ideal event for groups that can’t organise an evening to get together on. Just picture it now: a couple of hours in the office followed by you all heading down to the venue in convoy and sitting down together for a wonderful Christmas party lunch. What could be better than that? The party will be all wrapped up by the evening, meaning you can spend the night with loved ones without arriving home at 2am in the morning. Perfect!

Glasgow Christmas Parties | A Non-Working Lunch

Glasgow Christmas parties

Come December, a hard year of work will nearly be over once more. You can look forward to a good week or so of rest and relaxation with family and friends before jumping back into the swing of things in January. It is a time for celebration and companionship. These are most certainly themes that come into play with the company Christmas party. It is something that we here at Eventa certainly look forward to with enthusiasm and scanning over the Christmas parties on offer in 2011, the excitement levels are greater than ever. A Christmas party is traditionally an evening affair, the arrival of night time bringing with it the sound of chatter, laughter and the clinking of glasses. Glasgow Christmas parties are set to buck the trend this year and offer party goers the option of switching on the ‘out of office’ and having an afternoon away from work.

These lunchtime Christmas parties in Glasgow are becoming an increasingly popular choice for groups, simply because of the difficultly in getting everyone together for an evening with after-work commitments often throwing a spanner in the works. It means that everyone attending will most likely be in the same place at the same time, i.e.: work, meaning you can all jump in taxis and arrive at your Glasgow Christmas party together. This year’s lunch event promises to make for a wonderful company Christmas party. There’ll be a complementary welcome drink waiting for you upon your arrival before a delicious two course festive party meal is served. Fun competitions run throughout the afternoon with some fantastic prizes to be won. You’ll then be able to let your hair down on the dance floor as the resident DJ reels off the hits until well into the evening.

Of course, if you are a night owl, we’ve got plenty of shared Christmas parties in Glasgow held in the evening for you! Particularly tempting are the Sparkling Snow Party Nights, whereby one person goes free if the group size is over 20. Organisers booking in a group of 75 or over get a bottle of Champagne! Now, who said that the festive spirit had disappeared?!

Swashbuckling Nottingham Christmas Parties On The Horizon

Nottingham Christmas Parties

Sorry if we are mentioning this on a weekly basis at the moment, but things really are starting to hot up here at Eventa HQ. Not only have we just launched our brand-spanking new website (which we happen to think looks rather swell), but we are also starting to take on a number of new sales staff to help find you those ideal Christmas parties quicker and easier than ever before. The number of Christmas party enquiries across the board has sky-rocketed in the last few weeks as groups start to think about their festive events. Remember folks, if you want to find the shindig that you’re truly after, at the right price, then it makes sense to get in there early!

A subject that we haven’t paid much lip service to is that of Nottingham Christmas parties. We’ve got a list of events here as long as our collective arms waiting to go live on the website, but the two Christmas party packages on there thus far are amongst the most contrasting you could possibly imagine. Nottingham is a city famed for its history, settlements here dating back thousands of years and being home, reportedly, to the infamous Robin Hood. It is the historical theme that comes into play with our first Nottingham Christmas party: the Medieval Banquet. A swashbuckling festive event if we do say so ourselves, this Christmas party in Nottingham sees an appropriately themed venue awash with historical noise and colour. Court jesters and minstrels will entertain whilst you gorge on four hearty Christmas party courses, all washed down with either four large mugs of ale or a bottle of wine (for Medieval authenticity, we suggest indulging in the former).

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum we have a series of shared Christmas parties in Nottingham entitled ‘Festive And Fabulous’. These shiny, high-gloss festive events bring us right up to the present, with a whirlwind of colourful entertainment packing a fun evening. Expect stilt-walkers, aerial trapeze artists and dazzling dance routines. These Nottingham Christmas parties shall be held under a purpose-built big-top in Lenton, one of the most unique Christmas party venues we have ever laid our eyes upon. Stay close to the Eventa website as more Christmas parties are added to the site in a variety of locations.

Eventa Announces New Hire & Personnel Reshuffle

Eventa Christmas parties

Continuing their trend of steady growth and development, Eventa have today announced details of a new hire and a major personnel reshuffle within the team. The UK’s fastest growing Christmas parties organiser for groups and organisations in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have just launched a new website and have already seen a five-fold increase in the amount of Christmas party enquiries when compared to the same point last year.

The new hires are part of an ongoing recruitment drive to ensure that the company has the resources to be able to deal with this increased demand for Christmas parties and to drive forward the long-term goal of becoming not only a multi-million pound turnover business, but to become the largest Christmas party organiser in the UK.

Jimmy Dean, in-house party expert, will be moving onto the Eventa team on a full-time basis. He will be the point of contact for any new enquiries regarding staff Christmas parties and will be following up all online enquiries via telephone. His organisational skills mean that he is able to help groups plan their Christmas party from scratch, from sourcing a venue and arranging a date and final numbers, through to finalising food and drinks choices and handling feedback after the event has taken place.

On the personnel reshuffle side, corporate Christmas parties organiser Harriet Charlesworth will also be taking on the role of admin team leader. As well as liaising with Christmas party suppliers in regards to promoting event packages, she will be overseeing payments to and from suppliers. She, along with sales manager Lara Behrens, has been instrumental in ensuring that the largest possible range of Christmas parties right across the UK are available on the website for groups to book.

Eventa foresee continuing recruitment across all divisions, particularly on the sales side, to ensure that enquiries are dealt with swiftly and the perfect Christmas party can be found for all groups.
