When Christmas parties go wrong!

When Christmas parties go wrong!

May 10th, 2010

Eventa delivers exceptional Christmas Parties where a good time is had by all, but it seems not everyone is so lucky, particularly at a Christmas party in Ireland which resulted in a man having the tip of his nose bitten off by a colleague.

A surreal twist to the story is that both men involved are called David Kelly.

David Kelly, 42, pleaded guilty to attacking his namesake, 25, at the party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry in the early hours of December 9, 2007.

The pair continued to work in Walsh Family Foods Ltd… Continue reading

People are already thinking about Christmas, are you?

April 28th, 2010

Yes, it is only April and we have only just had the first warm weather of the year, but already people are thinking about Christmas 2010.

Internet retailer Amazon has announced that it is expecting Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle to be top of the Christmas album chart, even though she has not yet recorded her follow-up album to I Dreamed A Dream, which secured the festive top spot last year.

An Amazon spokesman said: “We are certain it will make the Christmas number one spot. It’s not often you can say that in April.”

It’s never too early to book Christmas parties

It’s never too early to book Christmas parties

February 4th, 2010

It is true that Christmas seems to start earlier each year with decorations up in shops in October and festive tunes on the radio before it is even December, but Christmas party planners start much earlier than this.

A number of you are probably still carrying out some excess weight gained over the Christmas just gone, or have presents that are yet to be used, but there are people out there thinking about the next month of festivities.

However, it is a wise decision as the best Christmas party packages do not hang around for long… Continue reading

Anything can happen at a Christmas party – even plotting to oust the PM

Anything can happen at a Christmas party – even plotting to oust the PM

February 4th, 2010

It is quite normal for something extreme to take place on a Christmas Party – something that you regret on the morning after, or at some point in the future.

However, you’d be hard-pressed to beat what happened at a Christmas Party organised by former Home Secretary Charles Clark last month, during which a plot to unseat Gordon Brown was hatched.

The ‘Bring a Rebel’ Christmas party saw members of discontented backbenchers invited for drinks and told to bring ‘three MPs who want to see the Prime Minister gone by the end of January’, according to the… Continue reading

Avoid swine flu when kissing under the mistletoe

Avoid swine flu when kissing under the mistletoe

November 23rd, 2009

The Christmas party season is now upon us and with it brings the tradition of having a festive kiss under the mistletoe.

However, in the climate of fear over swine flu we are being advised to take precautions when swooping in for a quick peck under the foliage.

Etiquette advisers Debrett’s have issued advise to help keep partygoers health aware this year, starting with the opinion that anyone feeling unwell should stay away altogether.

For that mistletoe moment the advice is to briefly touch cheeks with the other person, without leaving a saliva trail. Even air… Continue reading

Football Chairman to fund Xmas Party after losing bet

Football Chairman to fund Xmas Party after losing bet

November 11th, 2009

The economic difficulties have seen many companies cancel or downsize Christmas parties this year, but Birmingham Football Club’s chairman has found himself lumbered with the cost of the players’ party after losing a bet.

Birmingham’s new chairman Vico Hui was so confident that he could down a pint quicker than any of the Blues’ players that he agreed to fund next month’s bash if he was beaten, but he had not taken into account 6ft 5in Irish goalkeeper Colin Doyle.

The Irishman necked his pint in an astonishing 2.5 seconds to leave Hui stunned and unable to beat… Continue reading

The Pope, Bob Dylan and Sting this Christmas…

August 28th, 2009

No, it’s not the start of a bad joke; they’ve all got something in common this Christmas in that they’re releasing Christmas albums! We’re not quite sure where to start breaking this one down, but here’s the low down on the Christmas musical news…
Bob Dylan
This would be the first ever Christmas album recorded by the legendary singer songwriter and it’s set to contain a variety of traditional carols as well as modern songs. Some songs to be expected on the album are: “Must Be Santa,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “O Little Town… Continue reading
